Accessibility experts visited the future “Titans” center

Recently, the project team invited experts and representatives of the community of people with disabilities to the future “Titans” rehabilitation center. The goal was to inspect the premises together during the construction stage, walk the route of a future patient, and receive honest feedback: what is convenient, what should be changed, and what must absolutely be taken into account.

The meeting was attended by the representative of the Government Commissioner for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in the Cherkasy region, Nataliya Kapustian, the head of the NGO “Union of People with Disabilities ‘Perspektyva’,” Vitaliy Seredenko, as well as Oleksandr Shevchenko and Oleksandra Chechel, the head of the physiotherapy department of the Fifth Cherkasy City Primary Healthcare Center.

Together with the “Titans” team, led by the head of the organization, Volodymyr Drobotenko, the meeting participants inspected the premises where renovation works are ongoing. They discussed the accessibility of the entrance, the width of the aisles, the placement of functional areas, and other important details that will affect the comfort of the center’s visitors.

For the project team, a simple rule is fundamental: the rehabilitation center must be created for people, not just “to check a box.” That is why, even at the renovation stage, those who face barriers every day and know best how to make the space truly accessible are being involved in the discussion.

The goal of “Titans” is to create a modern aquatic rehabilitation center in Cherkasy, where people can undergo recovery in a comfortable, safe, and thoughtfully designed environment.

We are building this space together with those for whom it is being created!
